This means that your monthly loan repayments cannot go up or down
despite what happens with money market interest rates. In general
terms a loan where the interest rate is fixed tends to be more expensive
at commencement than a loan where the interest rate is variable for
the whole period of the loan. This is because the cost of the risk
that interest rates might rise has to be added into the fixed rate
loan.
With our loans the interest rate and thus the monthly payment are fixed for the first 12, 36 or 60 months of the loan. These plans normally can be offered at the same or similar interest rate as variable rate loans. They tend to be popular with clients that recognise that it is likely that they will refinance our loan within 3-5 years of taking out the loan as most of our clients do.
